About the project

What?

A dynamic, inspiring and provocative performance resulting from a year-long collaboration between more than 30 artists of different abilities, nationalities and art forms. Together we have been exploring the 'Strange World' theme, and, through music, dance, painting, weaving, clay-carving and digital media, we will create a beautiful story about our world. As an integral part of the performance there will be an exhibition of paintings, ceramics and textiles.

Why?

  • To challenge the conventional cliché about disabilities and arts
  • To show that differently-abled does not mean dis-abled – in general and in arts in particular
  • To promote and celebrate diversity so that different people can work together and create together without being afraid of the differences between one another.
  • To question what art is and who is an artist?
  • To encourage YOU not to be passive and to react to what’s going on around you, to have your say and feel important as an individual
